HELEN FITENI
CONSULTING
BEHAVIOR ANALYST FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH EXCEPTIONAL ABILITIES & UNIQUE NEEDS
ABOUT ME
I’m Helen Fiteni, Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) located in Los Angeles, CA. Outside of my work, I love to ride my bike, enjoy a nice meal with good friends, and have lots of laughs!

I found my way into the field of Applied Behavior Analysis in 2003 when I began working at a preschool for children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities. Because of the love of the work I did at this school, I decided to continue my studies so I could excel in the field, thus earning a Master’s degree with a dual certification in Elementary and Special Education with an emphasis in child development from Long Island University, NY. I received board certification in Behavior Analysis in 2008 and have been practicing Behavior Analysis in an ethical and responsible manner ever since.

I am fortunate enough to have specific training in Applied Behavior Analysis including Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Functional Communication Training (FCT), Natural Environment Training (NET), Verbal Behavior (VB), Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) and Discrete Trial Training (DTT). My expertise includes early intervention, school consultation, parent support, and developing behavior management support programs for toddlers, children, teens and adults. I have worked with individuals with various disabilities including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Emotional Disturbance, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, among others. I often work with families that are having a challenging time just managing their child's behavior, and their child may have no diagnosis at all. Applied Behavior Analysis benefits anyone and everyone!

With decades of experience across home, school, and community settings while working with private schools, school districts and Non-Public Agencies (NPA), I am best able to support clients through my private practice in Los Angeles, CA.

SERVICES
CONSULTATION
Consultative support can occur across settings, typically occurring in school or community locations.
School consultation is intended to be a collaborative process between the consultant and classroom staff. By providing the school team with tools and strategies, we can increase and promote student success.

Support may be for behavioral challenges associated with social or cognitive deficits but may also be for assisting students with acquiring new skills that are socially significant and meaningful to them.
PARENT COACHING & SUPPORT
Sometimes behavioral challenges can be tricky and parents may not know exactly how to respond. They may also question if how they've been responding is what's best for their child. Through parent sessions (in person/on phone/video conference), we are able to discuss concerns and come up with a plan.

Parent coaching will be informative and supportive. It will provide parents with accommodations for their child to have the best quality of life while being accepting of their child's mannerisms and needs.
CONCIERGE SUPPORT
Are you a parent looking to get service started for your child but you don’t know where to begin?
Are you a service provider looking for support with building your practice or navigating the ABA world?
Give me a call and I can help get you the information you need to set you in the right direction including support with funding sources, school systems and IEPs, and any other questions you may have.
DIRECT INTERVENTION
Direct intervention sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the learner depending upon their age and learning style. Whenever possible, it is imperative to receive input directly from the individual that will be receiving services, as well as their team, which may include parents and other service providers. It may take a village but the individual is at the forefront with my services!

When thinking about who benefits from direct intervention services, it is not limited to individuals with disabilities. Many individuals that identify as neurotypical can benefit from Applied Behavior Analytic services. Changing habits and building new skills applies to anyone and everyone. So if you think ABA might benefit you, let's chat and work together to come up with a plan.
NEED SUPERVISION?
I am excited to share that I now offer supervision to graduate students that are accruing hours to become board certified. Sessions will occur weekly at the rate of $75/hour. Set up a phone call today to get started!
TESTIMONIALS
(All Testimonials were Solicited)
"As the mother of a young man with special needs, we’ve had many professionals come in and out of our lives; Helen Fiteni was one of our favorites. As our BCBA, she thoroughly understood my son and his needs in a way that so many others failed to. She worked intuitively and creatively to resolve problem behaviors and guide my son to reach beyond his goals. She was so skilled at parent education, that I was able to work as a behavior interventionist for a school district thanks to her training. Helen is special, and we’ll be forever grateful for all she did for our family."
- Parent of Former Client

Ms. Fiteni’s guidance and support as a supervisor positively shaped my development as an ethical and responsible behaviorist (BCBA). Her leadership skills, expertise and wealth of knowledge would be an asset to any team."
- Former Colleague; Program Director at Non-Public Agency in the Greater Los Angeles Area
"Helen is so easy to work with. She conveys warmth and kindness while maintaining constant professionalism. Her strong relationship with our teachers, administration, and parents allowed her to speak honestly and be heard and respected, even in tough conversations. We had a true partnership with Helen, and in doing so gave the children in our care the best chance at success when the therapy and school were effectively communicating and working together."
